Following further discussions with SSNZ and consultation with the NZL Board yesterday, a final decision on the 2021 NZSS Lacrosse Champs has been made.
That final decision does sadly involve formally cancelling the 2021 tournament and not opting to postpone.
SSNZ have confirmed that they will only sanction re-scheduled events if they are regional (i.e. no cross-regional tournaments are now permitted). This unfortunately rules us out as the goal was to have Auckland, Waikato and Wellington represented at the tournament.
Thank you again for your patience as we have been working through things. We share with you and your students the disappointment of this event being cancelled for a second year. Our thoughts go out especially to the senior students and we thank you for your understanding.
The NZL Board will be discussing options for the 2022 tournament, noting that the 2022 NZSS Lacrosse Champs is scheduled for 2nd September to 4th September. We will keep you posted on our plans and hope you can all join us next year for a successful tournament!
