FIL Announcement: The 2013 Women’s World Cup will be held in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada on 11 – 20 July 2013.

World Cup Application details will be posted in October 2011. Watch this space!

University Lacrosse

New Zealand University Blues Recipients

Three of the New Zealand Women’s 2009 World Cup team recently received the prestegous New Zealand University Blues award.  They were Lauren McLain, Sonjah Yaw and Sally Rutherford.  All three attend Auckland University.

Northern Territory Challenge 2010

Lacrosse was introduced for the first time as a university sport in the 2010 Northern Tertiary Challenge.

AUT, Waikato University and Auckland University competed in mixed teams, and was won on the day by Auckland University A.  We hope to introduce Lacrosse into the University Games in the near Future

The 2007 U19 World Cup was held in Canada. The NZWLA sent it’s first ever U19 team.

2011 Women’s U19

The U19 Squad are currently working towards the 2011 U19 World Championships which are being held in Hannover, Germany. World Cup Team to be named in December 2010.

The NZWLA have put together a Development Squad to compete in the Asia Pacific Lacrosse Tournament (ASPACs) in July 2011.
