Three of the New Zealand Women’s 2009 World Cup team recently received the prestegous New Zealand University Blues award. They were Lauren McLain, Sonjah Yaw and Sally Rutherford. All three attend Auckland University.
Lacrosse was introduced for the first time as a university sport in the 2010 Northern Tertiary Challenge.
AUT, Waikato University and Auckland University competed in mixed teams, and was won on the day by Auckland University A. We hope to introduce Lacrosse into the University Games in the near Future
